A panel of experts, including our own Laurie Reid, discussed the health of our tree canopy with Mike Collins on WFAE’s “Charlotte Talks”, looking at whether we are on track to meet the 50 by 50 goal of 50% tree canopy cover by 2050. The situation is more dire than people may think, with Charlotte losing three football field of trees each day. As an organization, we are dedicated to preserving our tree canopy and designation as the City of Trees.
